When Marlon and Mikaela met with me about their outdoor ceremony at Lucile's in the Old Market of Omaha, I was basically counting down the days until their celebration came. Not just because it would be GORGEOUS and intimate, but because there would be so many important moments and relationships to capture! You should know by know that moments are what we live for!

Marlon is originally from South Africa and his entire family still lives there. They would be making the extremely long trek to not only enjoy in their sons wedding day, but to also spend quality time with Marlon and Mikaela's young boys. We knew how important it would be to capture the love and joy Marlon's family would have getting to play with them since they live so far away.

What I remember the most about our initial consultation together is writing in my notes in huge letters, "HE LOVES HER SO MUCH!" and underlining it. How true this is. Marlon loves Mikaela SO much...and she loves him...and they love their boys madly.

We started out the day in Marlon and Mikaela's home where Blush Makeup Artistry did some makeup magic...and then swiftly cried alllllll over it as Mikaela opened Marlon's wedding gift to her. He had made her a beautiful book full of stories, love notes, and photos...thus, opening up the waterworks for the rest of the day. Once Mikaela started crying, everyone started crying (we loved it).

My favorite part of the day was when everyone saw Mikaela in her GORGEOUS wedding dress from Rhylan Lang. I really think everyone's eyes popped out of their head. She was stunning. I LOVED the reveal with her parents...her dad looked at her in complete astonishment, and her mom kept telling her how proud she was of her. It really doesn't get any better than that.

Mikaela's brother officiated their wedding gifting everyone with a hilarious message and sweet sentiments towards them both. There truly is nothing more special than having someone you love marry you.

After the ceremony we trotted around the Old Market with Kriha Films to make some beautiful portraits of the two before the rain started! After that, it was party time. Mikaela wanted her reception to feel like a club and to dance the night away...and let me tell you...it was a success.

Marlon and Mikaela, thank you so much for trusting us to document such important memories for you! You guys are so easy in love and that made the day a complete dream for us. Come see us again soon!
